Safety first, every time
- — Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it away from children and animals.
- — Burn on a heat-proof, level surface, clear of curtains, paper and anything that can catch.
- — Trim the wick to about 6mm before each burn to stop smoking and tunnelling.
- — Stop burning when roughly 1cm of wax remains in the vessel.
- — Dressed candles carry herbs and oils — expect a livelier flame and watch it closely.
- — Glass can heat. Let a vessel cool fully before moving it.
